For agents: linking a prospect into the FloodZonePro intake.
This page documents the deep-link contract implemented by assets/agent-prefill.js and applied by the intake. It lists exactly the parameters that code honors, the parameters it ignores, and the producer-review handoff that follows every submission. If another summary describes this contract differently, the code and the canonical page at /for-agents/ govern.
Contract ID: flood-producer-review-v1
- No quote, rate, premium, eligibility determination, or binding is produced by the link or by the intake. A deep link only pre-fills property fields. A submitted intake is a request, not a quote.
- Every submission is reviewed by a licensed producer at Patriot Independent Insurance Partners before any quote. No automated system issues a quote from a link or from the intake alone.
- No coverage is bound by a link. Nothing on this site binds coverage. Coverage exists only when a producer confirms it and a policy is issued under its terms.
- Do not submit the intake on someone’s behalf. Send the person the prefilled link. They review what is prefilled, complete the remaining sections — including their contact details and the consent checkbox — and submit it themselves.
- Never put a person’s name, email address, or phone number in a URL. The intake honors property fields only. Contact parameters are ignored by design — the visitor types their own details into the intake and gives consent there.
What FloodZonePro is
FloodZonePro helps a homeowner understand a property’s FEMA flood zone and, if they want one, request a flood insurance quote. The free checker looks up the property’s zone in FEMA’s National Flood Hazard Layer and its ground elevation from USGS. Zone lookups are guidance only — official flood determinations can differ. The quote intake is a four-section form: Section A the address, Section B the visitor’s contact details, Section C what to cover, Section D a review the visitor confirms before anything is sent. Quote requests are free.
FloodZonePro is a service of Patriot Independent Insurance Partners, a licensed insurance agency. The agency is licensed in TX, FL, GA, SC, AL, MS, NC, CA, and CO.
The deep-link format
Build a link to the intake with property-only parameters:
Only the parameters in the table below are honored. Include as many or as few as you have — every field is optional in the link because the visitor can complete or correct any field in the form. The homepage checker is a separate surface: it honors only address, as https://floodzonepro.com/?address={url-encoded property address}#checker.
Submission contract — honored parameters
Source of truth: assets/agent-prefill.js (allowlist ALLOWED_KEYS, parser __parsePrefill). Validation is enforced in that code, not only stated here. Values that fail validation are dropped, and the visitor simply completes the field in the form.
| Name | Required | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| address | No | Full property address. Cleaned text, up to 300 characters. Pre-fills Section A; without coordinates the intake re-runs the FEMA zone check for this address. | 123 Main St, Houston, TX 77002 |
| city | No | City name. Cleaned text, up to 80 characters. Carried with a coordinates prefill as part of the matched address. | Houston |
| state | No | 2-letter state code. Honored only for a licensed state: TX, FL, GA, SC, AL, MS, NC, CA, CO. Any other value is dropped. | TX |
| zip | No | Property ZIP code. Must be a 5-digit ZIP; a ZIP+4 is reduced to its first 5 digits. Anything else is dropped. | 77002 |
| property_type | No | Building type slug that maps to an intake building-type value: single-family, single-family-home, townhouse, condo, condo-unit, 2-4-unit, apartment, apartment-building, mobile, mobile-home, manufactured, or other. An exact intake value is also accepted. Aliases building_type and building are accepted for the same field. Any other value is dropped. | single-family |
| policy_type | No | Policy type: personal or commercial. Maps to the intake values Personal and Commercial. Any other value is dropped. | personal |
| zone | No | FEMA flood zone from a checker result, reduced to uppercase letters and digits, up to 6 characters. Only meaningful together with lat and lon. | AE |
| zlevel | No | Risk level matching the zone: high, moderate, low, or unknown. Any other value is dropped. | high |
| lat | No — pair only | Latitude in decimal degrees, -90 to 90. Honored only together with a valid lon; a lone or out-of-range coordinate is dropped. | 29.76 |
| lon | No — pair only | Longitude in decimal degrees, -180 to 180. Honored only together with a valid lat; a lone or out-of-range coordinate is dropped. | -95.37 |
There are no required link parameters. A link with no valid parameters is simply the plain intake.
Worked examples
Example 1 — a property-only prefill with no zone result yet. The intake re-checks the address on arrival:
Example 2 — carrying a checker result into the intake, with zone and coordinates:
Both examples use only honored parameters and carry no personal data. Addresses are illustrative.
Ignored parameters
Every parameter not in the honored table is ignored and dropped by the prefill code, including name, email, and phone. That is deliberate: personal contact details never travel in a URL. Two names deserve an explicit note because they are real intake questions, not link parameters: occupancy (how the property is used) and whether the visitor is currently insured are completed by the visitor in the form where the intake asks them — they are not honored from a URL, and a link must not try to set them.
What not to send
Do not send — in a URL, in a referral, or in any other field — any of the following. The intake has no such fields, and there is no place to put them:
- No Social Security numbers or other government ID numbers.
- No payment data — no card numbers, bank account numbers, or payment credentials.
- No documents — no policy documents, elevation certificates, photos, or uploads via a link. If a producer needs a document, the producer will ask the visitor for it directly after review.
- No name, email, or phone number in the URL itself, as covered above.
The producer-review handoff
When the visitor submits the intake, the request goes to the agency inbox at Patriot Independent Insurance Partners. A licensed producer reads every submission and reviews it before any quote is prepared. The producer may ask for more information, may prepare options for the property, or may say honestly that FloodZonePro is not the right shop for that property or state. The site makes no response-time promise, and an agent must not make one either: every request is read, and the agency replies as fast as it can.
Nothing in this handoff changes the guardrails above: no quote, rate, premium, eligibility determination, or binding is produced by the link or by the intake, and no coverage is bound by a link.
